Stelvio Pass (Italian) or Stilfser Joch (German) is a mountain pass in northern Italy bordering Switzerland at an elevation of 2,757 m above sea level. Yes, over 2700m high! You need to drive many many curves, it is adrenaline pure this ride.
It is one of the highest paved mountain passes in the Alps being only 13m below France's Col de l'Iseran with 2,770 m.
In the summer it is quite busy with bicycle riders, motorcycles, and nice sports cars. In the late fall, if you get lucky, you can get amazing yellow colors because of many aspen trees that change their color.
At the peak were ski touring national teams of Italy and Romania training for future Olympics. Close to the peak is the Italian-Swiss border.
Note: If you have the chance go also in Italy's Südtyrol - to the lake Resia Lake and the immersed church then climb Stelvio Pass towards Switzerland into Santa Maria
